To support the efforts of the member countries to transform their institutions with a view to ensuring that the environment and natural resources are managed in such a way that the sustainable development of agriculture and the rural milieu will be possible.

 Areas of Concentration will focus on:

• Linking  agriculture, trade and the environment;
• the integrated management of natural resources for agricultural and rural development;
• the impact of global environmental changes on agrifood systems;
• the promotion of good environmental management practices in agricultural and rural production.
